President Bush, soon after his election, issued an Executive Order stating that faith-based groups were entitled to the same opportunity to obtain grants as any other group.  Bradford County, Pennsylvania, has adopted a faith-based prison reform program as one alternative that prisoners might use for their rehabilitation.  This program has had huge success throughout the country.  However, Bradford County has been sued by the ACLU for alleged violations of the Establishment Clause.  The ACLU has claimed that the faith-based program receiving federal money is a violation of the law under any circumstance.

We represent Bradford County in this case.  We came to the defense of this county because we believe that President Bush was absolutely correct when he removed barriers from faith-based groups participating in grant opportunities.  We think it is an imperative that religious organizations and faith-based groups be given an equal opportunity to help meet the needs of those who are the least fortunate among us.  The stakes in this case are enormous, and we will keep you posted as we progress.
