Time for Pro-Life Democrat Senators to Act

In the ongoing Senate debate over health care, one of the sticking points remains the fact that the bill includes an abortion mandate and massive federal subsidies of plans that cover abortion. 

Unfortunately, an amendment by Senators Ben Nelson (D-NE) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT) to correct the problem was defeated. 

However, there were seven Democrats who saw fit to protect life by supporting the amendment.  Of those seven, only Senator Nelson has committed to opposing the entire bill unless abortion funding is removed entirely.  The remaining six Senators have yet to make such a statement.  We encourage those six Senators, listed below, to follow Senator Nelsons lead and commit to opposing any bill that funds abortion with federal dollars.

Mark Pryor (AR)
