Persecuted Church

A

A

Jesus called for His people to take up their cross and follow Him.

For Middle East Christians, the cross is a reality. Christians are being crucified.

As we observe Good Friday and the beginning of Passover, safe with our families, and as we celebrate Easter in the security of our churches, millions of Christians face persecution not seen since the early Church.

Beheadings, crucifixions, and staged mass executions are abhorrently commonplace – on display for the world to see. Radical Islamic jihadists are targeting and terrorizing Christians throughout the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.

This persecution cannot be ignored. It is critical that we speak out – sound an alarm – be a true voice – a powerful advocate – for the persecuted Church.

At the ACLJ, part of our core mission is to protect these persecuted Christians, to give voice to the voiceless.

In our new ACLJ Films’ documentary, Let My People Go: The War Against the Eradication of the Global Church, we tell their story.

Let My People Go from BBE on Vimeo.

We take you behind the scenes as ACLJ attorneys advocate around the world for imprisoned American Pastor Saeed Abedini, Christian mom Asia Bibi – who remains on death row in Pakistan – and the millions targeted by the Islamic State and other jihadists.

As Franklin Graham says in the film, “It’s like it’s open season on Christians.”

Nina Shea, the Director of the Center for Religious Freedom at the Hudson Institute, calls what we are seeing in the world today a “religious cleansing.”

The Christian “Vicar of Baghdad,” Canon Andrew White, whose congregation was decimated by ISIS in Iraq, pleads: “Don’t forget us.  We are your brothers and sisters.  Please don’t leave us.  We need you.”

That is the plight faced by thousands upon thousands of Christians in the world today.  If we don’t speak out, if we remain silent, they will die.

The goal of radical jihadists across the globe is to wipe out Christianity.

Yet there is still hope. Let My People Go takes a look at what we are doing and what can still be done to protect the persecuted.  We shine a spotlight on the defenders of the faith – the men and women who are putting their own lives at risk to stand-up for the persecuted church.  We show how hundreds of thousands have teamed with the ACLJ and our allies to advocate at the White House, Congress, the United Nations, and beyond on behalf of persecuted Christians in chains and endangered because of their faith.

This Easter season as we remember the ONE who died so that we may have life, let us remember those who are suffering for Christ around the world.

Watch this powerful film at LetMyPeopleGoMovie.com and share it with your friends and family.

The first step in combating religious persecution is ensuring that more and more people are aware that each and every day Christians across the globe are dying for their faith.

We have a voice, and we must exercise that voice.
