It did not take long for news of the nuclear deal between the United States and Iran to reach American Pastor Saeed Abedini – imprisoned in one of Iran’s most brutal and dangerous prisons.

Today, a family member visited Pastor Saeed in Iran.  Pastor Saeed revealed  that since the deal was announced yesterday, many in the prison are expressing anti-American sentiments.

Tensions are high inside the prison and he told the family member during today’s visit that not only does he feel threatened, but believes he is now a target because he is an American citizen.

It was only a little over a month ago that fellow prisoners attacked Pastor Saeed.

Despite the increasing tension in the prison, Pastor Saeed shared a letter to his brothers and sisters in Christ, urging us to remember God is in control and to pray for the entire world.

I know that so many of you have felt that I have been left behind after a deal was reached with Iran and I am still not home.

I want you to know that as I wrote the thank you letter to President Obama after he had visited my family in January of this year (which he read at the national prayer breakfast), that God is in control of all countries and leadership in the world when the body of Christ comes together in united prayer. He is in control and He is the One who beautifully writes the history over all governments, presidents, and any P5+1 negotiating team.

We are all looking for a safer, more friendly world and because of this desire many of us are happy and others un-happy about the deal. Please join me in using these emotions that have been awakened to give fervor to united prayer for God’s chosen people, America, and for the whole world.

Pastor Saeed,
In chains for Christ and chained together in unity

Pastor Saeed remains in chains for Christ in one of the world’s most dangerous prisons. The nuclear deal seems to have only increased the danger within the prison.  Yet, he maintains his hope and faith in Christ.

But we must continue to pray.  We must continue to speak out on his behalf.

Pastor Saeed needs us more now than ever before.

Join us in calling for Congress to reject the deal and save Pastor Saeed.  Sign on to our petition right now.
