Today’s testimony by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius before a House Committee will not reassure the American people about ObamaCare.
Secretary Sebelius failed to provide any reason why the American people should have confidence in ObamaCare and a website that failed to operate even during her testimony. Unfortunately, what we heard from Secretary Sebelius was nothing new - more excuses for the disastrous rollout and more promises to fix the problems. Today's hearing reinforces what's become standard operating procedure for the Obama Administration when facing a crisis: issue an apology, pledge to do better, and move on.
The American people won't be fooled by this performance. As millions lose health insurance coverage because of ObamaCare and as the deadline approaches for Americans to sign-up for a system that doesn't work or face financial penalties, one thing is clear - Secretary Sebelius and her team are not capable of implementing ObamaCare. An apology without accountability is meaningless.
The hearing did reveal new and important information, raising significant questions about whether the ObamaCare website has been thoroughly subjected to security testing - to ensure that the confidential information provided by Americans is adequately protected.
Americans deserve more than an apology and more promises. They deserve more than a government-mandated program that doesn't work, millions losing coverage, exploding health care costs, and a system that puts the private information of Americans at risk. That is exactly why the individual mandate must be delayed for one year.
At the ACLJ, we represent numerous businesses challenging the HHS mandate in federal court. And, now with Americans facing financial penalties early next year for a product that they can’t obtain, we are exploring a litigation strategy that will seek to protect Americans from unconstitutional penalties imposed by the Obama Administration.

Today the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in a case that could cripple ObamaCare. The Supreme Court has a critical opportunity to reject IRS regulations that illegally authorize tax subsidies for purchasers of health insurance on federal healthcare exchanges. The ACLJ has filed an amicus...
After his “glib” apology before Congress this week for calling the American people “stupid,” ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber attempted to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and … dodge every substantive question that came his way. He refused to answer even the simplest questions like how much ( millions )
From day one, we have warned that the real danger of Obamacare is not in the 2,700 pages of its text (as bad as they are), but in the hundreds of thousands of pages of rules and regulations that would flow out of that text. This week provides yet another example of that danger, and it is in the...
Yesterday, liberal Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer lambasted Democrats for the political failure of both ObamaCare and the stimulus. While he certainly has not changed his core belief that government can solve all the people’s ills (and said as much), he slammed his party for its political failures.
