ObamaCare

A

With each passing day, a growing number of Americans understand that ObamaCare is truly the wrong prescription for the country.

A recent poll shows that 52% of Americans, including 53% of independents, “disapprove” of ObamaCare.  This negative opinion of ObamaCare is seven points worse for President Obama’s prized pro-abortion law than just last year.

By nearly a two to one margin, Americans says that ObamaCare will make their family’s healthcare “worse” rather than “better”.  Surprisingly, most Democrats say ObamaCare will make “not much difference” at all in their family healthcare.

Overall, a plurality (47%) of Americans agree that ObamaCare will “make things worse” for healthcare in America.

Stunningly, these overtly negative numbers are from mid to late June of this year, before the recent avalanche of delays and failings were made public.  Since then, President Obama has given big business a pass on the employer mandate while still pushing forward to enforce both the individual mandate and the abortion-pill mandate.  Immediately following that bombshell, his Administration announced that it would put government handouts, insurance subsidies for low-income individuals, on what has been described as an “honor system,” leaving the door open to rampant fraud at taxpayer expense.

Even those on the Left are now calling ObamaCare a “huge train wreck.”  In what may be the biggest blow to ObamaCare yet, a group of unions, including the all-powerful Teamsters, has publicly pronounced, “[ObamaCare] will shatter not only our hard-earned health benefits, but destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week that is the backbone of the American middle class.”  Most devastating to President Obama’s “vision” for this law, they admit that all their energy spent working to pass and promote ObamaCare “has come back to haunt us.”  The scathing union letter says that the “consequences of [ObamaCare and the President’s unequal implementation of it] are severe … creating nightmare scenarios.”

The point is, the same as it has always been, ObamaCare is unworkable.  It is a failure from the start.  And now, more  and more Americans including those on the Left who backed ObamaCare are now beginning to see this flawed law for what it is.

Bad policy.  Bad medicine.  Bad  law.

In an unprecedented power play, President Obama is now picking and choosing which parts of the law he will enforce.  And he’s picking all the parts most people don’t like to enforce.  As the American people see this unfair enforcement of the law and how it will effect their families – like how next year they still have to buy insurance but their employer no longer has to provide it – these numbers will continue to tank.  Just like ObamaCare itself.
