The threat to Israel is growing. Two terrorist groups, Hamas and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (P.L.O.), lead the Palestinian government. They have the stated goal of destroying the Israeli people. Now they have gotten the United Nations to grant it "non-member observer state" status and have endorsed a divided Jerusalem. A terrorist-led nation on Israel’s border is a deadly threat.

The U.N. admits existing nations to the international diplomatic community; it does not create nations. The creation of a new terrorist-led state not only violates its own charter, but international law as well. We oppose the creation of a terrorist-led Palestinian state on Israel’s border, a divided Jerusalem, and indefensible pre-1967 borders.

Next week the University of California student-workers union, UAW 2865 (yes, it’s affiliated with United Auto Workers), will vote on its Joint Council’s motion to boycott, divest, and sanction Israeli institutions. This motion is absurd on its face, but if it has any teeth at all it’s also illegal.
