Yesterday, we told you about the launch of our brand new website, SaveSaeed.org, and our effort to have the hashtag #SaveSaeed trend on Twitter and gain 300,000 petitions signatures for imprisoned American Pastor Saeed Abedini.

SaveSaeed Hashtag

Not only were we successfully in getting #SaveSaeed trending on Twitter, but we are already more than halfway to our goal of petition signatures.

Grammy award-winning recording artists, Christian radio stations, and people around the globe tweeted about Pastor Saeed, urging others to speak out for his release.

Among those who spoke out were Sarah Palin, TobyMac, Steven Curtis Chapman, Ricky Skaggs, Michael W. Smith, Matthew West, Mike Donehey (Tenth Avenue North), Bart Millard (Mercy Me), Kevin Max (Audio Adrenaline & DC Talk), John Cooper (Skillet), Julia Ross (Everlife), Rhett Walker, Luke Caldwell (Esterlyn), James Arnold Taylor, Brant Hansen of Air1 Radio, and many, many others.

In response, literally thousands of people tweeted #SaveSaeed and thousands more signed the petition to the United Nations at SaveSaeed.org.

More and more people are taking about Pastor Saeed and calling for his release, which means more international media, governments, and world leaders will be willing to put pressure on Iran for his release.

We have seen these efforts work in the past, and they are working now.  Continue to share Pastor Saeed’s story of perseverance in the face of immense persecution and sign the petition at SaveSaeed.org today.
