Members of Congress Step Up to Save Saeed
Over the course of the last year, an overwhelming number of U.S. Senators and U.S. Congressmen have taken action in support of Pastor Saeed Abedini. These bipartisan efforts have taken the form of public statements, advocacy letters, speeches, legislation, and calls to prayer, and have played a key role in elevating Pastor Saeed’s case to the world. Now, upon hearing news of Pastor Saeed’s transfer to an even more dangerous Iranian prison, federal officials are once again rallying to Pastor Saeed’s aid. The ACLJ is grateful to each of the following Members for recognizing the urgency of the situation, and for quickly giving voice to it.

The letter, led by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), was also signed by Senators Roy Blunt (R-MO), Jeff Sessions (R-AL), John Boozman (R-AR), Ron Johnson (R-WI), Rob Portman (R-OH), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), John Hoeven (R-ND), Richard Burr (R-NC), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Pat Roberts (R-KS), Rand Paul (R-KY), James Risch (R-ID), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Mike Lee (R-UT), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Bob Corker (R-TN), Mike Johanns (R-NE), Mike Crapo (R-ID), John Cornyn (R-TX), Mike Enzi (R-WY), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).
