It is difficult to believe.  President Obama backing the disturbing plans to build an Islamic mosque at the site of Ground Zero.  Here's his own words of support for the mosque: "As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan in accordance with local laws and ordinances."

He attempted to downplay those remarks the next day saying he was not commenting on the 'wisdom' to build the mosque but the 'right' of Muslims to build it. The White House spokesman made it clear, though, that the President "is not backing off in any way" from his comments about the mosque.

This Presidential push for the mosque unfolds as the leader of Hamas, a terrorist organization, said the group supports efforts to put a mosque on the site where thousands of Americans were murdered by Islamic terrorists on 9-11.

Mahmoud al-Zahar, a co-founder of Hamas, told Aaron Klein in a radio interview that "We have to build the mosque . . . We have to build everywhere."

And he continued:  "First of all, we have to address that we are different as people, as a nation totally different. We already are living under the tradition of Islam. ... Islam is controlling every source of our life as regard to marriage, divorce, our commercial relationships. ... Even the Islamic people or the Muslims in your country, they are living now in the tradition of Islam."

The fact is the Imam behind the Ground Zero mosque, Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf, president of the Cordoba Initiative, has refused to answer whether he believes Hamas is a terrorist organization.  He's also refused to condemn other violent jihad groups as terrorists.  And, of course, it was Imam Rauf - days after the tragic attacks of 9-11, told 60 Minutes that he believes the U.S. was "an accessory" to the crimes committed that day.  He's also scheduled to travel - at taxpayer expense - to the Arab world on behalf of the U.S. State Department to promote the Islam religion.

With President Obama's support of the Ground Zero mosque - he is not only offending thousands of Americans who lost family and loved ones in the attacks - he is also ignoring the will of the American people.   Most Americans - and victims of 9-11 including our client NYC firefighter and first responder Tim Brown - understand the sensitive nature of this site.  Part of the landing gear of one of the hijacked planes actually crashed into the building on this site.

This is sacred, hallowed ground - NOT the place for an Islamic mosque.

Our legal challenge continues.  Our lawsuit against NYC is moving forward.  Now, it is time to send a message to President Obama - reverse your decision - No mosque at Ground Zero.
