It's a disturbing proposal - a plan to build an Islamic mosque near Ground Zero - the sacred site in New York City where thousands of Americans were murdered by Islamic terrorists in the attacks of 9-11.

As one father who lost a son in the attacks put it:  "to put a mosque two blocks from ground zero is ludicrous."

He's absolutely right.  And consider the fact that the Imam behind this mosque has a record of support for causes tied to terrorism - and now there are even new reports that the Imam was one of the key financiers of the Gaza-bound flotilla that carried terrorists determined to attack Israel.

In New York, opposition continues to grow to the plans to build this mosque near Ground Zero.  Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is adamant about his opposition to the plan.

In a radio interview, Giuliani said:  "It sends a particularly bad message, particularly if you knew the background of the imam supporting this. This is an imam who has supported radical causes, who has not been forthright in condemning Islamic terrorists, and the worst instincts that brings about."   He continued, "Nobody would allow something like that at Pearl Harbor. Let's have some respect for who died there and why they died there. They died because of Islamic extremist terrorists," he said.  "They are our enemy. We can say that. The world will not end if we say that."

At the same time, there's support for this project.  Even, New York Mayor Bloomberg has said he backs the plan.

That's why it is critical to take a stand now - NO mosque at Ground Zero.  We're sending a letter to the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and the City of New York urging officials to reject this proposal.

Stand with the ACLJ and oppose this troubling plan.  Add your name to our letter today.
