This past week I had the distinct privilege to attend the Minnesota Faith & Freedom Coalition Annual Pastors’ Briefing & Strategy Event where I spoke to over 120 pastors on their rights in the political process.

The event was hosted by Pastor Brad Brandon, President of the Minnesota Faith & Freedom Project and host of KKMS radio’s “Word of Truth.” My wife Anna and I were pleased to be joined by special guest Congresswoman Michele Bachmann for this event.

In an election year it is critical that we understand that it is not only a right to participate in the political process and speak out about the critical issues we face, it is our responsibility. There is much confusion about what pastors and leaders of non-profit organizations can say about political issues. However, as I told these pastors, “The First Amendment clearly protects Churches’ right to speak on moral issues of the day and to develop and disseminate information on public policy matters.”

It is so important that everyone have a clear understanding of the law in this area that we are providing the material that I presented at this conference. Please read this important memo and share it with your pastor.
