Just moments ago, the Supreme Court of the United States rejected an appeal by the parents of Terri Schiavo to reinsert her feeding tube.  The court issued a one sentence statement rejecting the appeal.  There was no written dissent from the court.  We do know the appeal went first to Justice Kennedy and then he likely circulated the petition to the full court for their consideration.  The one sentence denial does not give any indication how the court viewed this issue and how the Justices voted on this issue.  As I have said many times, an appeal to the Supreme Court is always an uphill battle but it was the only federal appeal action left to take.

Attention now turns to Florida where Governor Bush is asking to take protective custody of Terri Schiavo, who is in day seven without food or hydration.  That request is now before a Florida state judge and a decision could come at any time.  Please contact the Governor's office and urge him to take whatever action he can to save the life of Terri Schiavo.  The phone number to the Governor's office is 850-488-4441. The email address is jeb.bush@myflorida.com
