The Push to End the Judicial Filibuster

I have been on the phone today with our Washington team working to finalize our plans at the American Center for Law and Justice to produce a nationwide campaign beginning on Monday to urge the leadership in the Senate to enact a rules change to eliminate the use of the judicial filibuster.

I know the other side is aggressively involved in trying to convince the Senate to keep the filibuster in place.  People for the American Way has purchased television time to run advertisements to that affect.  We are working aggressively too.  I will reveal our plans on Monday but I want you to know there will be an important role for you to play in putting pressure on the Senate leadership to take the appropriate action to bring this unconstitutional tactic to an end.

This is an important time in Washington.  It is possible the first real opportunity for the Senate to make a move to change the filibuster rule will occur next week.  I will keep you posted on the developments as they unfold.
