Priscilla Owen Confirmed
The United States Senate took up the nomination of Priscilla Owen, who currently sits on the Texas Supreme Court. This afternoon, Pricilla Owen was confirmed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. The vote for Judge Owen was 55 in favor and 43 opposed. Senators Landrieu and Byrd voted for her confirmation from the Democratic side. The confirmation of Justice Owen is a positive indication that President Bush can nominate conservative judges to the Courts of Appeals including the Supreme Court of the
