Did Holder Withhold Petraeus Probe from President & Congress?
There are reports that the FBI notified Attorney General Eric Holder months ago that former CIA Director David Petraeus' name had surfaced in an investigation that ultimately uncovered what Petraeus has now admitted - his involvement in an extramarital affair. Holder never told the President. The White House says it first became aware of the Petraeus investigation and affair last Wednesday - the day after the election. The President accepted Petraeus' resignation two days later. Here's the ques... Continue Reading

Double Standards That Kill
Over at the New York Post, Arthur Herman has penned an outstanding piece that outlines the double standards inherent in every American conflict since Vietnam. Here’s the core point: After Vietnam, our politicians demanded that our armed forces be trained to wield the most lethal weapons ever made, with the moral and cultural sensitivity of Peace Corps volunteers. To anyone who knows history, our troops have met this challenge with overwhelming and unprecedented success — as our real... Continue Reading

Ground Zero Cross Gets More Attention and Support
Even after the 10th anniversary of 9/11, it remains a powerful symbol that continues to generate more attention and support. The Ground Zero cross - the steel beams fashioned into the shape of a cross on 9/11 - was the focal point for many who took part in Sunday's remembrance of the September 11th terrorists attack. In fact, much has been written about the history of the Ground Zero cross - discovered just two days after the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. The Ground Zero cross beca... First-Responder: I Remember My Brothers
Tim Brown is a former New York City firefighter and first responder who lost nearly 100 friends on 9/11. The ACLJ represents Tim Brown in an ongoing legal challenge to the plans to build an Islamic mosque at a site at Ground Zero where the landing gear of one of the hijacked planes crashed that fateful day. The ACLJ contends the site is hallowed and sacred ground and is not an appropriate site to build the mosque. On the tenth anniversary of 9/11, NewsMax ran an editorial by Tim asking us all t... Prayer Permeates 9/11 Event, Despite Bloomberg Ban
If you watched any of the 9/11 coverage from Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and the field in Pennsylvania, you know that this was a solemn day - a day to remember - a day to grieve - and a day to pray. Despite New York City Mayor Bloomberg's stubborn refusal to acknowledge the importance of including prayer at the official event at Ground Zero, the fact is that prayer and Scripture played an integral part of this solemn and sacred remembrance - and for that we are grateful. As you know, nearly 40,0... Continue Reading

Remembering 9/11 – An Attack on Faith and Freedom
It’s a day forever etched in my mind and heart. A day that drives me in my work at the ACLJ to defend fundamental rights of faith and freedom. And a day that opened my eyes to the depths of the depravity and evil that exist in the world. It’s a day that I wish I could forget, but one I know I must remember. As the 10th anniversary of the acts of war that we now simply call “9/11” approaches, I’ve found cause to more carefully reflect on how that day impacted my lif... Continue Reading

Remembering 9/11
It may be ten years, but the tragic events of 9/11 are still seared in our nation's collective memory. 9/11 shook America to its core. Who could forget the pain, the suffering and the horror of what became the most deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil? On this anniversary, we remember and honor those who gave their lives for others - the passengers who battled the terrorists and brought down the plane in a Pennsylvania field before it could reach Washington. The brave men and women who gave t... Continue Reading
