Court Stops Law to Defund Planned Parenthood Abortion Business
A federal appeals court has prevented a state from defunding the largest abortion provider in America. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that an Indiana law that prevented funds from going to Planned Parenthood or other abortion providers could not be enforced because it likely violates federal law. Indiana’s legislature passed a law which provided: An agency of the state may not: (1) enter into a contract with; or (2) make a grant to; any entity that performs abortions or main... Victory: Court Cuts Off Planned Parenthood's Taxpayer Funding
The ACLJ is pleased to announce that the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has sided with the State of Texas and held that the State may choose not to subsidize the life-ending work of abortion-providing organizations such as Planned Parenthood. In May, 2012 the ACLJ filed an amicus brief on behalf of the Houston Coalition for Life and over 39,000 members of the Committee to Stop Taxpayer Funding of Abortion. SCOTUS on AZ Immigration: State Sovereignty is the Issue
The Supreme Court’s decision in Arizona v. United States represents an important victory for Arizona and proponents of the States’ authority to protect their borders and citizens when the federal government fails to do so. But, the Court’s holding that the i... Continue Reading

Photo ID, The Left, and Voter Fraud
A recent business trip got me thinking about those on the Left who oppose the movement by States to increase the security of elections by requiring people to produce photo identification (“ID”), generally a driver license or government-issued identification card, although there are other forms of permitted ID, before they can vote. As this is an election year, this issue is back in the news. On this trip, it seemed that every time I turned around I was having to show people my ID: t... Continue Reading

$13.5 Million in Taxpayer Funding Back to Planned Parenthood
The state of Texas passed a law preventing Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas from receiving taxpayer dollars. Planned Parenthood successfully sued to block this law but a federal appeals court issued an emergency stay, allowing the state to defund one of Planned Parenthood’s largest affiliates. On Friday, a federal appeals court again allowed taxpayer dollars to go to the abortion giant. Unfortunately, a three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the emergency ...
