Saeed’s Orphanage in Iran, the Hidden Casualty of his Wrongful Imprisonment
Not only is an American family without their husband and father, Iranian orphans are also being negatively impacted by the unlawful imprisonment of Pastor Saeed Abedini. Pastor Saeed was arrested on one of his many trips in recent years to Iran where he was working to establish an orphanage (pictured above) to help children in need. Now, because Saeed is wrongfully imprisoned, this orphanage can’t open. The dozen children this orphanage was intended to house and care for are left without... Continue Reading

2012 Victories: The Bible is Not Harmful to Children
This is the latest installment in a year-end series looking back at a few of the hundreds of victories by the ACLJ in 2012. For six years, a Christian daycare, true to its mission, had a biblical poster on its walls depicting the “Tree of Good and Evil” along with the “Tree of Life” and a Bible verse from Proverbs. A government licensor demanded that the Christian daycare tear down the poster, claiming that it was “too negative” and could “intimidate&rd... Continue Reading

Supreme Court Rules FCC Failed to Give Fair Notice But Leaves Indecency Laws Intact
Today’s Supreme Court decision in FCC v. Fox leaves intact the public indecency laws of all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The ACLJ filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court urging it to do just that. The ACLJ’s brief in this challenge to a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulation on broadcast indecency focused on the potential impact that any ruling could have on states’ right to ban indecency and protect children from being subjected to the moral and so... Planned Parenthood Targeting Low Income Children
In January, we warned you. We described exactly how Obamacare would open the door for Planned Parenthood-run clinics in middle schools and high schools. And now it’s a reality. When I first read the appalling story that Planned Parenthood was setting up shop in a public high school’s health center, I had a strong suspicion that its “reproductive services” at the school were targeting mainly poor and minority kids. After all, Planned Parenthood’s eugenic history ... Continue Reading

A Big Win for Endangered Children at the Super Bowl
The ACLJ is pleased to have participated in crafting new legislation to protect children from the horrors of human trafficking in Indiana just in time for the Super Bowl. It is a crime so horrific that most of us have a hard time comprehending it – the human trafficking of young children for the purpose of selling them into the sex trade. However, the reality is that it is happening on a shockingly large scale, and there is a desperate need for enhanced prosecution. Maybe most shocking to... Continue Reading

2011 Victories: Home for Abused and Neglected Children Approved
This is the latest installment in a year-end series looking back at a few of the hundreds of victories by the ACLJ in 2011. There is little nobler than caring for the needs of abused and neglected children. Yet, when a Christian group, Kings Ranch, wanted to do just that, the City of Jonesboro, AR refused to let them build a home to care for these children in need. Last year we filed a federal lawsuit to allow them to proceed with their children’s home. This year because of the continued... Continue Reading

Victory for Children's Home in Arkansas
I'm delighted to report an important victory for King's Ranch in Jonesboro, Arkansas. King's Ranch is a home for children in need. It describes its goal this way: "to provide a loving and structured home environment that promotes heart healing. Our purpose is to restore their childhood and share with them and others the hope that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ." We have been assisting this facility for some time. Last year, we filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of King's ... Continue Reading
