Planned Parenthood & NARAL: The Politics of Abortion

People march in 37th annual March for Life marking the anniversary of the Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion decision in Washington

With his re-election campaign in high gear, President Obama is focusing on his outreach to women. And, make no mistake about it, the president's pro-abortion track record regarding the funding of programs in this country and abroad has not gone unnoticed. In fact, President Obama just received a very strong endorsement from NARAL, one of the nation's most active and prominent pro-abortion groups. This from NARAL President Nancy Keenan: "At a time when politicians are attacking choice on the c   Continue Reading...

    Defunding Planned Parenthood Defunds Abortion

Anti-abortion demonstrators take part in the "March for Life" in Washington

A little over a week ago, Arizona joined a growing number of states in defunding America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood. As a report by American’s United for Life noted: House Bill 2800, signed by Governor Jan Brewer . . . , provides that neither the state nor any political subdivision of the state “may . . . enter into a contract with or make a grant to” abortion providers for family-planning services. Further, “subject to any applicable requirem   Continue Reading...

$13.5 Million in Taxpayer Funding Back to Planned Parenthood

Members of Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America hold "Stand Up for Women's Health" rally in Washington

The state of Texas passed a law preventing Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas from receiving taxpayer dollars. Planned Parenthood successfully sued to block this law but a federal appeals court issued an emergency stay, allowing the state to defund one of Planned Parenthood’s largest affiliates. On Friday, a federal appeals court again allowed taxpayer dollars to go to the abortion giant. Unfortunately, a three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the emergency   Continue Reading...

Thousands Back TX Legal Battle to Defund Planned Parenthood

People march in 37th annual March for Life marking the anniversary of the Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion decision in Washington

In just a matter of hours, we heard from more than 10,000 Americans (a number that continues to climb) who understand that taxpayer funds should not be used to fund abortions at Planned Parenthood. We first told you about this important pro-life win yesterday. A federal appeals court granted an emergency request - putting a lower court decision on hold - and cleared the way for Texas to enforce a state law banning taxpayer funds from going to Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion pr   Continue Reading...

Federal Appeals Court: Texas Can Defund Planned Parenthood … for Now

Planned Parenthood abortion rights protester signals Brooklyn Bridge traffic.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned a federal district court ruling that prevented the State of Texas from defunding Planned Parenthood. Yesterday, the federal district court granted a preliminary injunction to Planned Parenthood preventing the enforcement of a new Texas law that would have defunded Planned Parenthood in that state. The ruling by the Fifth Circuit issued later that day grants Texas a stay of that preliminary injunction order. Texas can now enforce the law defundi   Continue Reading...

Race and Sex Based Discrimination Illegal … Except for Abortion

    prolife girl at Supreme Court

Discrimination based on a person’s race or sex has long been illegal in America, except in one circumstance – when it comes to abortion. Federal law and 92 percent of states’ laws allow abortions to be committed even if it is just because of an unborn baby’s race or sex. Now there are new concerns that Planned Parenthood may actually be promoting this most invidious form of discrimination – the taking of a life based on the race or sex of the child. Planned Paren   Continue Reading...

    The Pro-Abortion War on Women

More than 20 organizations hold a rally in supporting preventive health care and family planning services in Washington

California law prohibits a person from performing or assisting in an abortion if the person lacks a valid license to practice as a physician and surgeon. Violation of this law is punishable by a fine not exceeding $10,000 or imprisonment, or both. Working its way through the California Legislature is Senate Bill 1338, which would change California law. The bill is scheduled for a committee hearing this week. The bill would allow non-physicians to perform first-trimester abortions. If the bill b   Continue Reading...

The U.S. Department of Planned Parenthood

    Obama at Planned Parenthood Meeting

Anyone who doubts that the current administration is in the back pocket of Planned Parenthood need only consider the latest personnel shift at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”). Effective last Friday, Tait Sye, once media director for Planned Parenthood, is now deputy assistant secretary for public affairs for HHS. Normally, an appointment to a deputy assistant to anything in our federal bureaucracy is hardly worth a mention. But this personnel choice is yet   Continue Reading...

    Planned Parenthood “Celebrate” Abortion

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, is always trying to convince the public that their business is about helping women, not abortion, and that abortion should be rare. But the abortion giant’s new prayer guide shows their true intent as they “celebrate” abortion in their prayers. Jordan and Matthew Clark, expose the truth in their latest article for the Washington Post, “Planned Parenthood’s abortion prayer.” They write: Pro-lif   Continue Reading...
