Today’s Radio: 9/11 Documentary Victory, Ground Zero Cross, and Iowa Straw Poll
It's Monday, August 15 and we have a great broadcast ahead. Make sure to check your local station listings here or listen online here. Today, we are discussing the ACLJ's work in helping the Christian Action Network secure permits to show Sacrificed Survivors: The Untold Story of the Ground Zero Mosque in NYC parks in the week leading up to the 10th anniversary of 9/11. FDNY Firefighter Tim Brown and ACLJ Attorney Brett Joshpe will join us live to discuss the victory. Make sure you read Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow’s blog on the victory before the show. We had nearly 100,000 people sign on to our "Committee To Protect The Ground Zero Cross." ACLJ Director of Policy and International Operations Jordan Sekulow released this Washington Post blog last week to show, through humor, the gravity of what the Atheists are demanding. Jordan will be taking on air suggestions for sites to add to his list. Read the post then call 1-800-684-3110 to join the discussion. On the Jordan Sekulow Sh... Continue Reading

NYC says No to 9-11 Documentary
A couple of days ago, I told you about a disturbing new lawsuit by an atheist organization that is trying to stop the display of a cross at Ground Zero - part of a museum being built to commemorate the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001. You also know that we will be filing an amicus brief backing the constitutional display of that cross in court. We will be representing former NYC firefighter and first responder Tim Brown and others. Now comes another 9-11 case, this one also out of New York... Continue Reading

Standing with 9-11 Hero Tim Brown to Stop Ground Zero Mosque
Just a few days ago, I posted an update concerning our legal case challenging the construction of an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero in New York City. The court ruled that our client, Tim Brown, a 9-11 first responder and firefighter, did not have legal standing to file our lawsuit. The court got it wrong. I want you to know that we are already preparing our appeal. And, soon I will let you know how you can stand with us and be involved in this vital effort. The fact is Tim Brown lost nearly 100... Ground Zero Site Not Suitable for Islamic Mosque
Our attorneys at the New York State Supreme Court presented our arguments today in a critical hearing - arguments that clearly show that an Islamic mosque should not be built at a site in Ground Zero. As you know, we've engaged this issue since last summer, when we filed our lawsuit challenging the City's decision not to landmark a building at Ground Zero - a move that would have prevented the mosque from moving forward. We represent Tim Brown, a New York City firefighter who survived the 9/11... Continue Reading

Suit Challenging Ground Zero Mosque Goes to Court
It's been a lengthy process since we filed suit last summer. But, now a critical court hearing is taking place at the New York State Supreme Court. We'll be in court Tuesday arguing our case that the planned mosque at Ground Zero should never be built. As you know, we represent Tim Brown, a first responder and firefighter who lost nearly 100 colleagues on 9/11. From the very start, it's been our position that this site is simply not appropriate to build an Islamic mosque. After all, part o... Continue Reading

Court Revelation: Ground Zero Mosque at Standstill
Our legal team was in New York Supreme Court today on a critical case involving plans to build an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero. As you know, we've filed a lawsuit challenging the project. And, today in court, a surprising admission from an attorney representing Sharif El-Gamal, the developer for the mosque project. In open court, he admitted that there are what he called "money issues" and that construction of the project is "far away." This revelation does a couple of things: It shows tha... Continue Reading

Back to Court to Stop Ground Zero Mosque
Our legal case to stop the building of the Ground Zero Mosque in New York City is moving forward with an important filing today at the Supreme Court of the State of New York, where we already have filed a lawsuit challenging the project. Today's filing is posted here. We're asking the court to enjoin the mosque's developers from performing any demolition or construction at the site and we're requesting court-ordered discovery in the case. As you know, we represent Tim Brown, a New York City f... Continue Reading
