Time to Stop Funding Terrorist-Supported Egypt

Supporters of Pakistani Islamist party celebrate President Pervez Musharraf's resignation in Multan

It's a troubling development that can only be viewed as dangerous for Israel and the United States. The Muslim Brotherhood, a radical Islamic organization with ties to terrorism, is poised to take control of Egypt. The group already has gained control of the country's new parliament. And, now the organization is breaking a promise it made earlier. One of the top leaders is now poised to run for president, something the organization originally said it would not do. With radical Islam on the ris   Continue Reading...

2011 Victories and the Challenges Ahead

Demonstrators gather on the plaza near the U.S. Capitol to participate in a protest against Obama's fiscal and economic policies in Washington

If you have been reading the ACLJ’s 2011 Victories series, you know that this has been an incredible year for the ACLJ. Through the unwavering support of our ACLJ members, we have protected “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, “In God We Trust” as the National Motto, the National Day of Prayer, and other examples of our religious heritage as a nation. We have defended the right of students to wear religious clothing, read their Bible, hold Bible clubs and praye   Continue Reading...

2011 Victories: Fighting the Spread of Radical Islam

A Palestinian militant from Al-Ansar brigade takes part in a training session in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip

This is the latest installment in a year-end series looking back at a few of the hundreds of victories by the ACLJ in 2011. A key part of the ACLJ’s mission is to bring better awareness and a depth of knowledge regarding the challenges the world faces today. We do this through blog posts like this one, our daily radio program Jay Sekulow Live!, a weekly television program, booklets, email updates, social media, and so many other ways. But one of the most powerful tools we have to communic   Continue Reading...

    Egypt: Christians Face Growing Dangers

Protestors from opposition parties shout slogans against Jordan's government and Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak during a demonstration in Amman

The images from Egypt are heartbreaking. Women being beaten, kicked and dragged through the streets. The violent response to protesters from the Egyptian military has resulted in at least the deaths of 10 people in recent days - including two children. This latest disturbing event is occurring as the votes continue to be counted in the national elections and as radical Islamists continue to gain ground. The Muslim Brotherhood is now approaching 40% of the vote in the second round of the countr   Continue Reading...

Will Egypt Become the Next Pakistan?

Islamists hold a picture of Osama bin Laden during a protest in Cairo

A few days ago, I was watching a popular Egyptian talk show; Fil Midan, or In the Square 10/20/2011 show. It had a very interesting guest, a leader of a salafi Islamic political faction. He maintained a pleasantly tranquil smile and a relaxed appearance throughout the program, wearing his typically Pakistani outerwear and hat. The host Amr Al-Leithy was pretending to be eager to corner him, asking tough questions, but it was obvious to me as time went on, that he was not serious about laying a g   Continue Reading...

From Arab Spring to Shariah Fall?

A Palestinian man holds a Koran as a members of the Islamic group Hamas look on during a protest in Nablus

No one is mourning the demise of the authoritarian regimes in Tunisia and Egypt, much less the fall of the terrorist Moammar Gadhafi. The Middle East has for a long time groaned under the weight of oppressive dictators. Revolution, however, can be a very dangerous thing. We Americans have a soft spot for popular uprisings, for very good reason. Our own revolution created not only the world’s most prosperous, powerful, and virtuous democracy, it created a beacon of freedom for the entir   Continue Reading...

Standing Up for Egypt's Coptic Christians

A Coptic Christian boy looks out of the Saint Mary Church which was set on fire during clashes between Muslims and Christians on Saturday in the heavily populated area of Imbaba in Cairo

Not long ago, I told you about the growing danger facing Coptic Christians in Egypt and reported about an attack earlier this month that claimed the lives of more than two dozen Christians in that country. As I reported earlier, not only did the government fail to defend the Coptic Christians, which account for 10% of Egypt’s population, its own military carried out the brutal murder of dozens of Christians. This is the reality of the new Egyptian regime under the influence of the Muslim   Continue Reading...

Victory for a Moroccan Christian Convert

A Coptic Christian boy looks out of the Saint Mary Church which was set on fire during clashes between Muslims and Christians on Saturday in the heavily populated area of Imbaba in Cairo

We are glad to inform you that our client, a former Muslim from Morocco, has been granted asylum in the United States. Our client, Z, whose name has been kept confidential for security reasons, is a young Christian who grew up in a wealthy and strong Muslim family in Morocco. After his conversion to Christianity, he was attacked by radical Muslims and was stabbed multiple times. After losing a lot of blood and remaining unconscious for three days, Z was miraculously saved. Z told the ACLJ that   Continue Reading...

    Fighting Jihadists After Oslo

Palestinian militants from the Islamic Jihad group attend the funeral of their comrade Mohammed Moamar in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip

Friday’s horrifying and depraved murders do not change a single thing about the jihadist threat we face, but they could make our fight against jihad more difficult by granting the other side a series of potent rhetorical weapons — including patently false claims of moral equivalency and incitement. How do we respond? With the truth: First, we have to acknowledge the horror. One of the troublesome habits of Islam's more radical defenders is their nearly inexhaustible capacity to excu   Continue Reading...

Standing with 9-11 Hero Tim Brown to Stop Ground Zero Mosque

Just a few days ago, I posted an update concerning our legal case challenging the construction of an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero in New York City. The court ruled that our client, Tim Brown, a 9-11 first responder and firefighter, did not have legal standing to file our lawsuit. The court got it wrong. I want you to know that we are already preparing our appeal. And, soon I will let you know how you can stand with us and be involved in this vital effort. The fact is Tim Brown lost nearly 100   Continue Reading...
