Thoughts on Boston – A Day of Terror, a Day of Courage
As we mourn those who died yesterday and pray for those who are now battling through horrific injuries, I am thankful that we serve a God who is righteous and merciful. It is part of God’s great mercy that on a day where we were reminded once again that evil is all too real and present, we were reminded even more that this nation is still full of men and women who demonstrate courage and compassion in the face of danger. By all accounts, the first responders, bystanders, and even uninju... Continue Reading

Reminders of the Fall; Evidence of Grace
Reminders of the Fall were all around us this weekend. Of course an entire nation mourned the massacre in Denver, but even more died — anonymously — in a horrific truck crash Sunday night in Texas. The sports world waited to see the NCAA’s verdict on Penn State’s malice and neglect, and as Israelis once again counted the cost of terror, the International Olympic Committee rubbed salt in old wounds by refusing to acknowledge the Games’ greatest tragedy. Each day these students have faithfully prayed for Pastor Youcef. The class made cards encouraging Pastor Youcef to continue trusting in God and letting him kno... Continue Reading

We are also leaving flowers in front of the Interests Section to show our solidarity for Pa... Continue Reading

Celebrating National Day of Prayer
Across America, there will be observances this day - with the 60th annual National Day of Prayer being celebrated coast-to-coast. That is certainly great news. But what is especially gratifying is that the atheist organization, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), has failed to put a stop to this national observance. Just last month, a federal appeals court overturned a decision by a federal district court in Wisconsin that declared the National Day of Prayer presidential proclamation... Continue Reading
