The Muslim World's Problem
While publications like the Daily Beast and Mother Jones and networks like NPR are exposing the scandal of – gasp – Evangelical adoptions, perhaps they should cover a different religious scandal. Thanks to Jim Geraghty’s must-read Morning Jolt e-mail (subscribe if you haven’t — it’s consistently my favorite read of the day), I ran across this chart from The Economist detailing Muslim attitudes towards sharia law and apostasy: Read it and weep. In Egypt, for... Continue Reading

Rewarding Hate, Intolerance, and Broken Promises – With Taxpayer Dollars
Just days after President Obama left Israel, we learned that his administration quietly gave the green light to giving nearly $500 million in taxpayer-funded aid to the Palestinian Authority. The administration’s memory must be short. Roughly four months ago, the Palestinian Authority defied the Oslo Accords – and the U.S. – by seeking and gaining non-member observer state status at the United Nations. Just weeks ago – right before President Obama’s visit &ndas... Continue Reading

Doubling Down on Hate
Three weeks ago we gave Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood government a $250 million economic stimulus package, and this week we decided to double-down in our national support for anti-Semites by giving the Palestinian Authority its own $500 million bonus. Never mind that this is the same Palestinian Authority that late last year directly defied the U.S. and violated the Oslo Agreements by pursuing non-member observer state status at the U.N. Never mind that this is the same Palestinian Authority ... Continue Reading

Aid to Muslim Brotherhood Egypt: Senator Rubio Steps Up
Opposition to funding our enemies is building. Just days after news that Congress cut the State Department’s request for Egypt funding, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida introduced an Amendment calling for tough new conditions on aid. Speaking from the Senate floor, Senator Rubio noted that foreign aid isn’t charity but is designed to “further our national interests.” Senator Rubio’s conditions require Egypt to demonstrate with actions, not just words, that it an al... Aid to Muslim Brotherhood Egypt: We’re Slowing it Down
For months we’ve been demanding that the Obama Administration suspend American aid to Muslim Brotherhood-led Egypt. In fact, after an overwhelming public outcry, Congress placed a hold on aid to Egypt that had to this point deprived the Muslim Brotherhood of hundreds of millions of dollars. Last week it seemed that Congressional resistance had crumbled and the Administration was once again free to pour money into the Muslim Brotherhood. Secretary of State Kerry, just days after the Seq... Continue Reading

How Foolish Can We Be? (Sequester Edition)
Twelve days ago, I wondered aloud why we were sending 20 F-16s and 200 Abrams Main Battle Tanks to an Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood government so hostile to us that they were actually obstructing our investigation of the Benghazi attacks. Today, I’ve got a different question: As we impose across-the-board cuts on our own military, why are we giving the Muslim Brotherhood an economic stimulus? After administration officials worked overtime to tell the American people that the Sequester was ... Continue Reading

Secretary of State Kerry Admits “No Guarantee” U.S. Arms Won’t go to Jihadists
As Jay Sekulow, ACLJ Chief Counsel, wrote for FoxNews.com yesterday, Secretary of State John Kerry’s decision to award radical Muslim Brotherhood-led Egypt a quarter of a billion dollars in new aid on the backs of American taxpayers is “exactly the wrong move.” Now, Secretary Kerry is blatantly admitting the flawed reasoning behind the decisions to fund and arm radical regimes. While in Saudi Arabia, Secretary Kerry admitted that there was “no guarantee” that weap... Continue Reading

Secretary Kerry, Now is Not the Time to Give Money to Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood
Secretary of State John Kerry has made exactly the wrong move. Releasing $250 million in aid to Egypt’s fragile Muslim Brotherhood government -- based on nothing more than hopes and promises -- is the worst possible course of action and gives a hostile and repressive regime a lifeline at precisely the wrong time. In fact, given the Muslim Brotherhood’s recent record, it’s impossible to believe any promises of “reform.” As Egypt’s economy continues to crumble... Continue Reading

Arming the Enemy Violates a Basic Moral Law of Foreign Policy
I’m going to be writing quite a bit more over on the opinion page of the Christian Post, one of the largest Christian news outlets. My first column is about the dreadful decision to give modern tanks and fighter jets to Muslim Brotherhood-led Egypt. It begins: It should be a basic moral axiom of American foreign policy that we don't give away advanced weapons to racist, radical, and unstable foreign governments. In fact, that's not just morality; it's common sense. Yet that's exactly... Continue Reading
