Who Would Describe Christians in the Military as “Monsters who Terrorize”?
Thousands of the brave men and women of our military who fight to defend the freedoms we hold dear find strength and renewal in their Christian faith. Yet, some would seek to remove their religious freedom, their freedom to freely practice their Christian faith from the military. Dangerously, one of the most ardent opponents of religious freedom – and in particular Christians – in the military is now apparently the Pentagon’s newest advisor on religious freedom and tolerance ... ACLJ Joins Global Coalition to Highlight Plight of Christians in Syria
This week, the ACLJ joined members of a global coalition named the Religious Liberty Partnership (RLP) expressing our concern and support for Syrian Christians and other ethnic and religious refugees facing persecution and displacement because of the conflicts in Syria. Last month, the ACLJ joined the members of RLP, which represents religious organizations from twenty different countries, to discuss the most critical issues of international religious freedom. Each year at its global consultatio... Continue Reading

More than 200 Christians’ Houses set on Fire over Blasphemy Accusation in Pakistan
The plight of Christians in Muslim nations continues to deteriorate as evidenced by a minor alteration that ended horrific violence, destruction, and persecution of a Christian community in Pakistan. Center for Law and Justice (CLJ) in Pakistan, an affiliate of the ECLJ, found out during its fact-finding visit that Sawan Masih, a Christian living in Joseph Colony, Pakistan, had an argument with his Muslim friend Shahid Imran – two friends of more than fifteen years who often argued about v... American Evangelicals Stand With Israel
For more than a week, Palestinian terrorists have fired at least 1,408 missiles at Israeli civilians. They have used children as their protectors, firing and storing rockets near playgrounds, residential areas, and mosques. These terrorists have engaged in an unmitigated effort to blind the international community with distortions and lies about the conflict. Hamas has used fake images to claim Israel is committing war crimes and targeting Palestinian civilians. Yet, it is Hamas terrorists who ... Continue Reading

Egypt’s President Joins in Prayer for Destruction of “Jews and Their Supporters”
Dangers continue to increase for Christians and Jews in Egypt. News reports are saying that the former head of the Muslim Brotherhood, now President of Egypt, Mohammed Morsi “participated in prayers over the weekend in which the preacher urged Allah to ‘destroy the Jews and their supporters.’” This prayer service was broadcast on state-run television in Egypt on Friday. The Anti-Defamation League confirmed that Morsi himself could be plainly seen “mouthing ‘a... Continue Reading

Christians in Egypt Remember the Massacre One Year Ago
One year ago, dozens of Christians were murdered in Egypt as the nation’s military carried out a brutal massacre. Coptic Christians were peacefully protesting the government’s failure to take any action against a Muslim militia which had burned down a church. Egypt’s military fired on the crowd, running over civilians with their tanks. Yesterday, Christians gathered in Egypt in memory of what transpired a year ago. As one Egyptian Christian who participated in yesterday&rsquo... Continue Reading

Freedom for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani; Others Still Face Persecution
What an incredible blessing. As you now know, after nearly three years of imprisonment and facing a death sentence, Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani was released by Iranian officials on Saturday. I want to thank all who stood with us in support of Pastor Youcef. More than three million people received a tweet each day for nearly a year, keeping this important case in the spotlight. While our work in this country and abroad focused on securing Pastor Youcef's unconditional release, I was shocked it hap... Continue Reading

Muslim Brotherhood: Egypt’s Christians Must "Convert, Pay Tribute, or Leave"
According to a popular Egyptian website, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Egyptian presidential candidate, Mohammed Morsi, has stated that Christians will be forced to “convert, pay tribute, or leave.” When asked about Coptic Christians in Egypt, Morsi reportedly told a journalist, “They have to know that the conquest is coming and Egypt will be Muslim and they have to pay tribute or migrate as one who left.” He reportedly stated that it was his goal as a presidential can... Christians Tried on Easter in Iran for Their Faith
Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani is just one example of the rampant persecution of Christians going on around the world. Now, there are new reports that another Christian Pastor, Reverend Matthias Haghnejad, has been tried in Iran for his faith. Even worse, eleven members of his Christian congregation, including his wife, were also tried and are now awaiting a verdict. Iranian prosecutors charged these Christians with "crimes against the order," a charge often leveled as a cover for religious persecut... Continue Reading
